TheAssemblydeclaredthattheDaybeobservedasadayofglobalceasefireandnon-violence，aninvitationtoallnationsandpeopletohonouracessationofhostilitiesduringtheDay。ItinvitedallMemberStates，organizationsoftheUnitedNationssystem，regionalandnon-governmentalorganizationsandindividualstocommemoratetheDayinanappropriatemanner，includingthrougheducationandpublicawareness，andtocooperatewiththeUnitedNationsinestablishingaglobalceasefire。PeaceDayforYoungPeopleattheUnitedNationsSince1997，theWorldPeacePrayerSocietyhasassistedtheUnitedNationsDepartmentofPublicInformationinproducingaprogramforNewYorkschoolchildrenatUNHeadquarters，includingaWorldPeaceFlagCeremony。OnSept。
